Potpher's wife does two things in this chapter that is true for many people who do wrong. First, she falsely accuses Joseph. The cloak which should have proved he was willing to let his outer cloak go rather than stay with her was used to prove that he was up to no good. It's amazing how people can take information and turn it into what they want. Secondly, though she is the one who was up to no good she blames Potpher. She said you brought this slave here. Now besides lying, she is blaming Potpher. Here again, the guilty person is saying, it's not my fault.
What is the takeaway? Don't be like this. Also, realize that you can do everything right and everything go wrong.
