Isaiah 42 & 43

To complete the thought we have to look at the end of chapter 42 and the beginning of chapter 43.

Isaiah 42: There is an old saying that says, "No one is so blind as he that refuses to see." God says Israel has been that person. They have heard many things but haven't listened. They had the Law but didn't follow it. They had been chosen but they ended up under God's punishment.

Isaiah 43: Yet God says that he formed and created Israel and God is telling them that in the middle of all that is happening, God is with them. God isn't throwing with away. This is the faithfulness of God, he does all he can to save those who are His own. Even when he punishes them, he is there working to redeem them.
