Jesus imparts both feeling and prophecy when he quotes Psalm 22. I have to believe that Jesus was feeling forsaken but it is also very possible that in these words Jesus was saying that Psalm 22 was being lived out before them. A reading of Psalm 22 in light of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus shows that though the psalmist may have been speaking of his own life, he was in truth speaking a prophecy fulfilled in Jesus. Even here Jesus is teaching those who have ears to hear.
If he comes down we will believe. These words were spoken but if they wouldn't believe when Jesus raised a man who was dead four days, then it is probably they wouldn't have. Jesus had a greater purpose not to get a few people to believe, but to save the world and that he knew would cost him his life. It wasn't worth it.
