If you have read many of my posts, you will see that I often point out how God used and honored women. God gave them positions of power and prestige, using them as leaders and prophets. However, I have noticed in modern times it seems that rather than claiming we have the best leaders, there is praise for having diverse leaders. I will say that I believe we can get the best from diverse backgrounds, but when we point to diversity rather than quality, we undermine the quality of those who are chosen. What brings this to my attention today is the list of leaders in Israel. These are all men, and they are all Israelites. Some may complain, but considering the day, God was already working in the lives of people, so that women and others would be considered equally important. Any complaints today would be people looking for reasons to complain. This has little to do with our spiritual growth, but just a thought, as CS Lewis would say, feel free to toss it.
